The district

Meander through the streets of the Marais to discover numerous special structures that were aristocratic residences at the time of Henry IV.  One itinerary might start by going to the Church of Saint-Paul Saint-Louis and continuing on to the mythical place de Vosges.  Another option would be rue des Francs-Bourgeois, formerly occupied by weavers, where you can admire the Carnavalet Museum, devoted to Parisian history ranging from antiquity to the present day.  These are merely the begninning of the options that will be at your disposal.  Other popular nearby attractions include  the Musée des Arts et Métiers , Musée Picasso, Cirque d' Hiver, Place de la République, Archives Nationales, Centre Pompidou, Rue des Rosiers, Hôtel de Ville, Place de la Bastille, the Louvre et the Tuileries gardens.  You can easily visit other districts in Paris by taking the subway that lies close to your apartment (Saint-Paul, Hôtel de Ville, line 1 and 11 or Chemin Vert, line 8).
