The district

Previously an industrial area, the Buttes Chaumont has now transformed into a multicultural quarter with art workshops and galleries terraces, bars, restaurants and a renound market.  The district is currently undergoing a grand transformation, and will soon reveal many architectural sights.  Within walking distance you will find some of Paris' most well-known sites: la Villette, le Canal de l'Ourq, Ménilmontant, Belleville, Beaubourg and Père Lachaise.  Several metro stations are conveniently located near the apartment  (Jourdain, Pyrénées or Buttes Chaumont, lines 11 and 7 bis) allowing for ease of access to other districts within Paris.
