The district
One of the largest districts in the French captial, the 16th arrondissement spans from the Arc de Triomphe to the west suburbs of Paris. In the past the district was known for its small tree-lined villages, and was recognized by the writer Honoré de Balzac and the architect Hector Guimard. From there you can also walk to Palais de Tokyo, Baccarat museum the Cristal Room restaurant, the Museum of Modern Art, Musée de l’Homme, Musée de la Contrefaçon, the Musée du Vin, le Musée Galliera, le Musée Marmottan Monet and the Cité de l’Architecture. You will also be close to Bois de Boulogne, which is a vast park area with two race tracks and the tennis stadium called Roland-Garros.
